Watch: Thierry Neuville title hopes washed away

Date:

Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville effectively saw his title hopes dashed on Friday afternoon at ACI Rally Monza, clipping a bollard on SS4 which caused heavy damage to his right front suspension.

Attempting to continue, the Belgian’s i20 engine then expired in heavy standing water, forcing the stage to be delayed. This leaves team-mate Ott Tänak fighting for the title with Toyota Gazoo Racing duo Elfyn Evans and Sébastien Ogier.
