Turkey wants to become a permanent stage in F-1


The management of the Istanbul-park autodrome dreams that their stage will return to the Formula-1 World Championship. Turkey had already organized F-1 stage from 2005 to 2011.

The deicision to do a stage in Turkey was made at the last minute because of pandemic. This year also was included new stages such as Mugello, Portimao and Imola.

“Next year our the main goal is to sign a long-term contract with FOM to make the Turkish GP a permanent stage in Formula-1”, said Vural Akas, head of Intercity, which owns Istanbul’s autodrome.
