Stéphane Peterhansel: It’s really complicated to do a full Dakar without a mistake

The general standings leader still has an advantage of 4’50’’ over Nasser Al Attiyah, with whom his duel continues.

“Today we started second and after a few kilometres we were opening the way for the cars. I have to say that in the last fifty kilometres I made one or two mistakes.

I didn’t follow the information from by co-pilot Edouard and we ended up turning round and round a little bit. We lost probably one or two minutes. But in the end, we’re still in the fight, we’re still in the battle.

It’s really complicated to do a full Dakar without a mistake. For the moment, it’s just a small one. I hope that it will be the only one until the end”.
