Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2021: fourth 911 by Ombraracing

New step forward for team Ombra in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2021: confirmed the presence throughout the Series of a fourth Porsche 911 GT3, already planned for last season, but “frozen” after the spring suspension in 2020.

The new car will be driven by Lithuanian driver Džiugas Tovilavičius, born in 1992, at his debut on GT cars after the experience gained in the 2020 TCR Germany championship and with the victory in the 2019 TCR Baltic series. The choice of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia by drivers from all over Europe is an important sign of growth for the one-make series organised by Porsche Italia.

Tovilavicius, enthusiastic about the new experience and determined to do well, will wear for the occasion the colours of the main Sponsor SKUBA, Lithuanian company based also in Italy, international leader in the distribution of spare parts for trucks, buses and trailers.

Davide Mazzoleni – Team Manager: “Four cars in the Carrera Cup Italia: we can only be satisfied to have brought the programme to the levels set. Dziugas is a driver with an excellent approach, a good wealth of experience and a lot of room for improvement: Ombra will be able to provide him with the technical and human tools to continue his path.”

Džiugas Tovilavičius: “Last year I was racing TCR Germany and finished P7 in the championship. Learned a lot there and met some amazing people. This year I decided to step up and join the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia family in its racing world with a 991.2. I’ve already tested this car and I can say it’s such a fun and demanding car to drive – it’s amazing. That power output in slow corner exits – just wow!

I can’t wait for the racing to start as I am hoping to learn a lot from this year and for this to happen I needed perfect learning ground for this. With help of my manager (Alberto Tonti – Fly Racing Consulting) we searched for this great racing team. I think we’ve found one.

I believe all good results come from good people surrounding you and hard work. Together with my sponsors we are really happy to join Ombra Racing as I see here a lot of dedicated people who know and love what they are doing. With attention to details and passion to their work – good results can be achieved. I see this in my sponsors and immediately i saw this in Ombra racing. I can’t wait for the season to kick off!”
