Its time for TOP 10: Benediktas Vanagas presents his new car for Dakar


In historically important place Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, Benediktas Vanagas presented a new car with which he will attack Dakar 2021 in Saudi Arabia.

The Lithuanian driver announced the three main news about preparation for the toughest rally raid in the world.  In Saudi Arabia the “Inbank Toyota Gazoo Racing Baltics” team will start with three crews. The first team will B. Vanagas and his co-driver Filipe Palmeiro, the second Edvinas Juskauskas and Aisvydas Pauliukenas, the third Belarusians crew Andrej Halabarodzka and Andrej Rudnicki.

E. Juskauskas will start Dakar the second time in his career. To Saudi Arabia he will go with the last B. Vanagas car with which the Lithuanian reached the best result 11th place.

“I have already tried this car in Poland. I wish that this Dakar will be successful and we will reach the finish. As I know whole condition of car is very good. The main purpose is to drive calm”, said E. Juskauskas.

B. Vangas is the most well-known driver in the Lithuania and the Baltics States. He tried to attack Dakar eight times in a row.

“We knew that we need a plan not just for one year. It is very difficult rally. I am happy that from small team we became medium one”, said the Lithuanian driver.

B. Vanagas revealed how the team from small Europe country became partial factory team: “The last Dakar we talked with “Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe” managers. They wanted with Japanese delegation to meet us. They said that “Toyota” corporation takes a look at us many years, because we are one of the fastest from private teams in Dakar. We had a lot of discussions and in the end we became Baltics States region team.”

The most interesting part was with what kind of car B. Vanagas will go to Saudi Arabia: “We have got an absolutely new car. With the same “Toyota” cars will start Yazeed AlRahji, Bernard Ten Brinke, Jakub Przygonski and us. Now there are just 14 made these kind of cars in the world.”
